Bank Holiday Open Win for Long

A fantastic 23 points back nine that started with four points courtesy of an eagle two at the dog leg 10th hole was the key to
Brian Long's (6) Bank Holiday Open win. He also had another pair of twos on that stretch, at Billy's and The Quarry helping him towards the winning 41 points total. The Irish Junior Cup team manager will surely have noted that score. In second place, Graham Hepburn (6) another probable member of that particular  team to play at Foyle on 31st of May (Regional Qualifying Venue) also had 23 points on the second nine. He ended up with  a fine 40 points and his prize on a tie break. Connor McKnight (14) started like a house on fire and he also had a 23 point nine, the first in his case  and with only 17 points over the final stretch he had to settle for the third prize. Fourth overall was Ernie Heywood (1) and his 38 points was the best gross of the day.
