Visitor Mooney Takes Home the Spoils in Thursday Open

The Thursday Open was well supported this week and, in a rare occurrence, a visitor topped the table by the end of play. Many Prehen visitors find the combination of tight fairways, tricky greens and arboreal obstacles a stern test but five-handicapper Mr Aaron Mooney passed the set examination paper with flying colours as he took a mere 70 shots to complete his eighteen holes for a total of 41 points and first place. The minor places were harder to sort out as four players carded 39 points. The first faller was Mr Martin McNulty with Mr Lewis Callen(23) beating him on BOT, by virtue of a better back nine, to take fourth spot. Third place went to Mr Peter Hasson(2) whose Gross 69 was the best of the day and allowed him to claim third prize on BOT.  Second prize went to Mr Dean Nutt(17) whose 24 point back nine allowed him to overcome a pretty shaky front nine start where he could only must 15 points.
