Grant in Winning Form!

As the weather took a turn for the worse on Sunday, with vicious showers driven across the course by a vicious unrelenting northerly, it was the turn of Mr Ciaran Grant (21) to record a winning score of 37 points in the Sunday Society. 19/18 was the split of his score and he managed his win despite recording no score at the long stroke index 2 Par 4, “the Whins”. Mr James Desmond (13) has been quiet of late but recent “links” training has sparked his game into life. Thirty- four points was his tally on Sunday as he took second spot. Mr Andy McFaul (8) took third place with 32 points on a back nine BOT from fourth placed Mr Paul Glackin. Mr George Baldrick (13) also carded 32 points but the spice of his Saturday game  was missing on Sunday and the Sunday Society Captain had to be content with fifth spot. Mr Paul McIntosh (9) found that his 31 points was the best of the horde of finishers on that tally  and consequently took sixth prize.

With Winter setting in this week the Greens Committee have reluctantly introduced fairway mats for all competitions to protect the renowned Prehen fairways. If truth be told we’ve had a great run through the Autumn but, sadly, the trials of golf in an Irish November are upon us! Visitors and casual golfers can, as usual, choose to play from the first cut of rough during non-competition play
