Concannon Powers to Win in Sunday Society Second Outing.

An opening birdie two set the pace for eleven-handicapper Paul Concannon’s fine 41 point round in the second outing of the Prehen Sunday Society. A further birdie at the Par 5 3rd,”Longfellow” allowed Paul to card 20 points for the front nine and an almost blemish free back nine added a further 22 points to take victory by a single shot. Second spot when to the resurgent Lester Moore (2) who compiled a 40-point round bedecked with five birdies that was also the lowest gross round of the day. Brian McClelland (16) quietly carded 38 points to take third spot and Kevin Quigg (4), still jubilant after his Friday snooker victory, carded 38 points to take fourth prize.  Andy McFaul (9) recorded 38 points but had to be satisfied with firth place due to Mr Quigg’s superior back nine score. The sixth and final place went to Eric Watson (14) on 37 points.
