Curry Again…..

This season Mr George Curry (11) has hit what must be his hottest form for many years. This week he graced the Thursday Society with his talent and duly emerged the winner with a fine 37 point score. Mr Curry’s game was chilli-hot on the front nine and he garnered 23 points for his efforts. However, with the Jim Bresland Trophy at stake, the other contestants were putting in fine efforts as well. One such was Bar Convenor, Mr Edwin Leonard (18), whose game has been steady if not spectacular over recent months. On this occasion he plotted his way round the front nine and compiled a massive 25 points tally for his efforts. But golf is a fickle game and as Mr Leonard faded over the closing holes, only registering twelve points, Mr Curry added a little extra spice, carded 14 points and emerged as the winner by virtue of a break-of-tie. Victory will have been sweet for Mr Curry but the result will have left a somewhat sour taste with Mr Leonard given his failure to score at the Par 4 17th,”Red Barn”. Mr Thomas McClintock (8) took third spot with a fine 36 points, Mr Ryan Rutherford (15) was steadiness personified as he carded 35 points to capture fourth place and old stager Mr Brian Stanford compiled a steady 33 points to lift the fifth prize on offer.
