Leeson Comes up Trumps at Prehen!

Winter golf is never that easy and when cold vicious showers whip across the course it is easy to just stay at home sooner than brave the elements. However, the Saturday golfers at Prehen are a hardy bunch and they duly challenged the severe weather this week. The hardiest proved to be Mr Peter Leeson (13) who dominated the competition with his fine 41 points. That tally included the rarest of scores a five-pointer at the tricky Par 4 10th,”Spires” where Mr Leeson holed out with his second shot! The rest of his game was also in pristine condition and he romped home with a substantial lead over his nearest challenger. Club Captain Mr Clive Brolly (12) has been getting his game back in shape over recent weeks and the winter conditions do suit his somewhat cavalier style. With 22 points on the card for his outward nine Mr Captain looked to have the competition in a half nelson, especially when he birdied the tricky Par 4 10 for a four-point tally but he could only add fifteen points over those closing holes and consequently had to be content with second spot on the podium. Mr Tony McDermott (10) lost out on a BOT to the captain by virtue of an inferior back nine score and had to rest easy with his third prize.

Results Mike Carroll.
