Sunday proved an easier day for golf as the weather brightened into what some suspect is a fabled, oft-remembered time - SPRING! The Sunday Society was well attended and it took a break-of-tie to separate the top two players. In the end Alan Wade’s 35 points proved better by virtue of a better back nine and the redoubtable Cecil Thompson had to be content with a runner-up spot. City of Derry’s new Vice Captain, Michael Carroll, shrugged off the weight of his new office to post a credible 34 points for third spot while low handicapper Graham Hepburn’s 32 points was enough for fourth place. Richard Burton just edged it for fifth place on a break-of-tie and Rob Jefferson had to be content with a sixth place finish.

In other news, the Sunday Society invites all City of Derry members to enter what is possible the scariest Teams of Four Competition in the calendar. The “Yellow Ball” Tof4 will be contested on Sunday 27th March. All interested should ensure that their names are on the sheet to avoid disappointment.

In another date for the diaries Sunday Society Captain, Mr Jim McCann, invites all members to play for his Captain’s Prize on Sunday 11th April. A meal and prize presentation will be in the clubhouse from 6pm.
