Sheridan Wins Thursday Open

Mr Mark Sheridan (12) has seen his handicap cut no fewer than seven times this season and he managed the feat again on Thursday as he carded 42 points to lift the Thursday Open. Mr Sheridan’s polished round included three birdies – at the difficult Par 3 8th, “”The Crow’s Nest”, the dogleg Par 4 10th, “Daly’s” and the scenic Par 4 18th, “Journey’s End” – and had a perfect 21/21 point split on the two nines. Mr Ralph Hamilton (13) finished as runner-up on 40 points but he will be regretting the simple mistake at the short Par 4 16th where a par would have seen him lift the first prize by virtue of BOT rules. Third place went to consistent performer Mr Iain Anthony (4) whose 72 shot  round for his 38 point total was the best gross of the day. Mr Colin Jeffery (6) recorded the same 38 point score but had to be content with fourth place after tie break rules were adhered to.
