It took a break of tie to win the Harry Bryson Trophy with two players returning 37 pointers. Mr Noel O’Connell(sen) (17) came out on top due to his superior 20 point back nine. Mr Fredrick Stuart (25) has been absent for some time from the winners’ enclosure but he made a welcome return on Thursday as his 37 points captured second spot. Mr Stuart’s endeavours included a fine birdie three at the tricky Par 4 10th, “Spires” but he will be regretting a few dropped shots along the way that could have seen him, with a modicum of good fortune, at the top of the table. Mr George Phillips (15) returned 36 points and just pipped Mr Martin McNulty (10) to third prize on BOT. Mr Phillips’ par, bogey, par finish was the difference in the scoring on this occasion. Richard Porter claimed fifth place also on BOT from Messrs Colin Jeffery and Eamon McCourt.
