Saturday saw the final day in the Club Stroke play Championship. This was a two round competition, the first round having been played in June where the top 32 players went forward to play for the trophy. Conditions were not as pleasant as they were in the first round and this affected the scoring. In first place with an aggregate score of 128 was Russell McGowan (09). Russell shot five under par nett on Satutday to finish with the best score (66) on the day. Russell has been playing well lately as he won the President’s Prize just a couple of weeks ago. In second place was Gerry Cleary who finished with an overall score of 136. Gerry scored 68 nett on both days. Third place, one shot back, was Ryan Rutherford. Ryan shot 71 on the first day and 66 on Saturday.
